Zippo - Tarot (Hard Surface)

Very excited to finally share my Hard Surface project from my Master's at Florida Universitaria!
I modeled the Zippo in Blender, textured it in Substance Painter, rendered it in Marmoset, and hand-painted the engraving design in Procreate.

I really loved being able to mix my passion for 2D and 3D art. When I draw, I often fall into this almost trance-like state. My mind starts creating wild backstories around my artworks, and somewhere along the way, the Zippo stopped being just an object. It got a soul.

The room receives you like a memory you shouldn’t have returned to. Dust dances in the candlelight. Towering bookshelves lean under the weight of forgotten knowledge.

A woman sits across from you. Her face feels strangely familiar, as though from a dream you can’t quite place. She doesn't ask why you’re here. She already knows. As if you've finally stepped into a decision you made long ago.

With slow, fluid movements, she shuffles her deck. Three cards slip free and fall face-down between you.
The first card reveals a glimmer of distant hope.
The second, the pull of something darker.
The third bleeds with grief and truth.

She pauses, then reaches into a drawer and places an old engraved lighter beside them, two figures intertwined in flame.
Its engraving is not a memory, but a promise:
